Are you ready to take the next step from camper to leader? The GCA Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program is now accepting applications for Summer 2026! Designed for teens ages 13–15, this program offers a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills, gain hands-on experience, and make a positive impact while working alongside our camp staff.
Throughout the summer, CITs assist counselors with daily camp activities, encourage younger campers, and build valuable life skills including responsibility, communication, teamwork, patience, and confidence. While still enjoying many of the exciting camp activities, CITs take on additional responsibilities that help prepare them for future leadership roles. Participants are mentored by GCA’s experienced staff in a supportive environment where they can learn, grow, and inspire others.
The 2026 CIT Program runs Monday through Thursday with two half-day session options: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM or 12:30 PM–3:30 PM. The program fee is $35 per week, with an optional discounted full-day camp add-on available for families who need extended care. Upon successful completion of the program, participants who are eligible to work at age 16 are guaranteed an interview for a coaching position at GCA.
If your teen is ready to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and create lasting memories this summer, we’d love to welcome them to our CIT Program.

Being a CIT is a leadership opportunity. Participants are expected to be responsible, respectful, punctual, and positive role models. Failure to meet program expectations may result in removal from the program.
Cell phones should remain put away during program hours unless a parent needs to contact the participant. If a teen is expecting an important call, please notify the CIT Coordinator in advance.
Upon successful completion of the CIT Program, participants who become eligible for employment at age 16 are guaranteed an interview for a coaching position at GCA.
